Taiwan declares war on agencies

HONG KONG (Mabuhay) : The Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, which masquerades as the Philippine embassy or consulate general to Taiwan, says it is dead serious about stopping the illegal collection of placement fees.

In what is headed Warning and Notice dated November 5, the Coordinating Philippine Labour Representative in Taiwan, Reydeluz Conferedo, says that his office is determined to put a stop to this decades-old abuse of Filipino workers.

The undocumented now being jailed in Saudi Arabia

MANILA (Agencies) : Father Edwin Corros has made a special appeal to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi in Riyadh to treat Filipinos who have been arrested in the latest purge on undocumented migrant workers humanely while they are waiting to be repatriated.
