Need for expertise in taking care of people in sunset years

HONG KONG (Mabuhay) : The HIV Education Centre at St. John’s  Cathedral, Central, together with the Atech Holistic Wellness Institute, has put together a training course for domestic workers that have migrated to the city and take care of people of advanced age in their homes.

Ada Yu Wing-cheung, a physiotherapist from the institute, designed the course.

Church rolls its sleeves up with the workers

MANILA (Agencies) : It has taken 30 years to get there, but to mark the anniversary of the 1981 encyclical of Pope John Paul II on the work of human hands, On Human Work (Laborem Exercens), the Church People-Workers Solidarity hosted the first ever national conference between Church personnel and those who earn their rice by the sweat of their brows, the workers, between September 12 and 15, at the Mariners’ Court Pier One in Cebu City.

Saudis offer support to migrant workers at end of Ramadan

MAKATI (Agencies) : A campaign in support of migrant workers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia by local workers is being met with gratitude and relief by many Filipinos in the country, who have described their action as kind and friendly.
