Feast of Holy Innocents
a day for the unborn

TAGBILARAN (Agencies) : Hundreds of people gathered after the Mass at the Shrine of the Unborn outside the St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Tagbilaran City, where special prayers were said and flowers were laid to commemorate the feast of Holy Innocents on December 28.

Bishop Leonardo Medroso spoke against those who are pushing the Reproductive Health Bill, saying that they are the modern-day Herods.

“They live by the modern-day Herod mentality,” CBCP News reported the bishop as saying, “because of their fear that more babies equals more mouths to feed.”

According to the gospel narrative, Herod ordered the slaying of all boys in Bethlehem aged two years and below. He had intended to include the son of God among the liquidated.

Holy Innocents Day is commemorated every year on December 28.

The event was jointly organised by the Diocesan Family and Life Apostolate and Human Life International Pilipinas.
