Iloilo hosts Eucharistic miracle exhibi

JARO (Agencies) : The parish of the Immaculate Conception in Tanza, Iloilo City, hosted the country’s first ever Vatican International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles of the World from November 7 to December 3.

More than 12,000 visitors flocked the exhibit held at the Pacita Laguda Sia Community Centre in the parish, CBCP News reported.

Since the exhibit was held in the Year of the Youth, the parish
priest, Father Norberto Taccadao, commissioned the young people of the parish to act as principal guides for the visitors who came to view the exhibit.

Attractions included a documentary video on Eucharistic miracles, which was billed as an introduction to the exhibit. Visitors were then provided with MP3 audio devices to guide them through the panels depicting the Eucharistic miracles that have been documented from all over the world.

Lorena Martirez, a parishioner who obtained a copyright from the Vatican to bring the exhibit to The Philippines, shared how moved she was to hear different remarks from guests saying that thanks to what they had seen, they had finally realised that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist.

According to the young guides, some of the visitors acknowledged that they did not believe in the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist when asked at the beginning.

But after viewing the exhibit, the same people remarked, “We did not know about this before. We should make other people know about this.”

Father Taccadao said that through the project they hope to help reverse the current trend of indifference to the real presence and ignite love for the Eucharist.

The Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibit was made possible through the active collaboration of Father Taccadao, the parish Youth Ministry and Charismatic Movement.
